Who We Are
I was sitting around my apartment when I had an idea.
I was always a gamer. I got into it in college. It all started out with text based internet role playing games.
These internet games were called MUD's (Multi User Dimension). I was heavily into a particular MUD called SwMUD(which closed
down in 1984). The home website of this MUD was completely black accept for 2 links.
1 small link on the top of the website said "About SwMUD" . Under it was a much larger link that said "ENTER
Sw". When I clicked that button I entered a world of adventure and role playing. And it all started because of that button.
The fact that the entire web-page was a world that I could enter was incredibly appealing. This is why hundreds of succesful
MUD's exist to this day. Its the fact that it is a world that you can imagine.
Now, after SwMUD closed down and literally evaporated from the web, I go into all kinds of games. After a while I thought
back to the SwMUD games that I used to play and I had an idea. I was sitting around in my apartment playing Wc3 TFT when I
had an idea. What if someone created a Multi User Dimension that was targeted toward multiplayer internet gamers. What if
I could create a headquarters to gamers around the world. Imagine a MUD world filled with people who all share the same interests.
This Dimension would be a new approach to "Clans" or gaming organizations such as http://www.overdosed.net and http://www.13tharmy.com.
The dimension would be a place where gamers could walk around in a virtual world of gamers. They could find people to play
games with, simply hang out, or visit other game rooms. If you play battle.net and CS, you will be able to talk to both parties
with one network.
Many internet communities use forums or simple java chat applets in order to communicate. What I dream for this organization,
is for a text based MUD to be the means of communication within the network. It would be based on simplicity. You go to the
site, hit enter, type in an alias, and within seconds you are a member of the community. No registration required.
